Art and Culture

Our founder Paul Ricard’s love of creativity and art drove his philanthropy and we carry on that mission today by supporting artists and artistic creation.

Art is made to be shared

Since the creation of Pernod Ricard in 1975, we have been motivated by the same conviction: that art is only meaningful if it is shared. It is a force of freedom and better living together, a constant expression of our mission as ‘createurs de convivialité’.

Our cultural corporate artistic philanthropy is rooted in the firm belief that a society is even more open to transformation and innovation when it is open to its creative minds. This longstanding mission is the legacy of our founder, Paul Ricard, whose love of creativity and art drove his philanthropy.

Pernod Ricard Contemporary Art Foundation

Located at The Island, Pernod Ricard’s global flagship in central Paris, the Pernod Ricard Contemporary Art Foundation is a multidisciplinary art space, open to all and free of charge.

A space for everyone

The Foundation was designed by NeM / Niney et Marca Architectes – it features a main exhibition space spanning 300m², a library, a 112-seat auditorium and a modular foyer that hosts conferences, performances, and temporary installations.

Accompanying the exhibition space is Café Mirette, named in honour of Paul Ricard’s wife. Managed by La Pantruchoise, the team welcome you for lunch, dinner, cocktails and more.

The Artistic Programme

The Foundation operates as a platform supporting artists, with the same ambition it has had since its creation in 1998: to raise the profile of the young contemporary scene in France and throughout the world. It will roll out a “pioneering and audacious” programme according to Director Antonia Scintilla.

Since it began, the Pernod Ricard Contemporary Art Foundation has featured more than 1000 artists, invited by 250 curators as part of 150 exhibitions. Not having its own collection, its identity is shaped by those who bring it to life on a daily basis – artists, curators, authors, intellectuals, and the general public.

Our Corporate Philanthropy Initiatives

Pernod Ricard’s corporate philanthropy mission is to share our passion for creativity with the widest possible audience. To achieve this, we pursue an ambitious policy in support of arts and culture with a long-term perspective and an international scope.

Our dedicated philanthropic actions act as a platform to strengthen the Group’s reputation in this area and showcase the contemporary arts scene by establishing cultural collaborations with our affiliates.

Centre Pompidou

Pompidou Centre

Pernod Ricard has established close relations with leading cultural institutions in France and around the world. Such as our longstanding support of the Centre Pompidou, which is the largest museum for modern art in Europe.

Pernod Ricard has been one of Pompidou’s major corporate sponsors for over 40 years, since right after it opened. The annual Pernod Ricard summer party is also hosted on the Pompidou's iconic rooftop.
